Bishop McLaughlin 20, Santa Fe Catholic 14
By TIMES STAFF WRITER

LAKELAND - Bishop McLaughlin took advantage of Santa Fe Catholic's early mistakes to score twice, but then went cold in falling to the Crimson Hawks in the Class B, District 6 opener for both teams. Rob Gallagher's touchdown and the ensuing two-point conversion pass from Coleman Hengesbach to Brandon Marks made it 14-0 early in the fourth in the Hurricanes' favor. But Santa Fe Catholic tied the game and scored the game-winner with three minutes left after converting a key fourth-down play. Hengesbach threw two interceptions, including one in the end zone in the third quarter, as the Hurricane offense sputtered.
