Take in some wildlife for free at Brooker Creek Preserve

The Brooker Creek Preserve Environmental Education Center, 3940 Keystone Road, is offering the following programs:
- Wednesday Evening Walk, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday . Environmental education center staff will lead a twilight hike to look for wildlife. The program is recommended for adults and children 10 and older. Sturdy, closed-toed shoes are required and a flashlight is optional. The walk is free. Advance registration is required.
- Florida Undiscovered: The Wildlife Art of Peter Gerbert. On exhibit through Sept. 29. Gerbert's acrylic paintings capture wildlife and their habitats in realistic detail.
- World Rivers Day Fest, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 30, will highlight waterways at the Brooker Creek Preserve and show practical ways for residents to step lightly in the ecosystem. The ribbon will be cut to celebrate the new bridges and boardwalk over Brooker Creek and trails will be open. Live music, demonstrations, children's activities and refreshments will be available. The event is free and for all ages.

Something for kids and their parents
The YMCA of North Pinellas, 4550 Village Center Drive, is offering the following programs:
- Scuba diving class, from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays from Sept. 19 through Oct. 19. The cost is $195 for facility members, $255 for program members, with an additional cost for two days of open water dives of about $85.
- Parents' Night Out, for children ages 5 or older, from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. Sept. 29. Children will play games, romp in the kid's gym, then watch a movie. Pizza, juice and popcorn will be provided. The cost is $12 for facility members, $24 for program members, with some discounts for additional siblings.
- Mom's Morning Out, for children ages 2 to 5, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 11. Children will have story time, arts and crafts and play on the playground and in the Kids Zone. Bring a lunch and drink. The cost is $12 for facility members, $22 for program members.
- Allstar Morning Camp, for kids ages 3 to 5, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 12. Children will play soccer or kick ball, have story time, play on the playground and in the Kids Zone. The cost is $12 for facility members, $22 forprogram members. Call (727) 772-9622.
Church headed to Clewiston to clean up

Hear about growing up in rural Palm Harbor
The Palm Harbor Newcomers Alumnae and Friends plans a luncheon at 11 a.m. Oct. 5 at the East Lake Woodlands Country Club, 1055 East Lake Woodlands Parkway. Winona Jones, retiring director of the North Pinellas Historical Museum, will talk about growing up in rural Palm Harbor. Guests are welcome. Volunteers needed to help feed hungry
Congregation B'nai Emmunah, a Reform Jewish synagogue, 3374 Keystone Road, works with Mount Moriah AME Church, 722 S Disston Ave., to feed the hungry on Sundays. More volunteers are needed. They meet at 2:30 p.m. at the Tarpon Springs church to prepare a free meal that they serve from 4 to 5 p.m. Call (727) 938-9000.
