Deputies seek help in solving string of robberies

By TIMES STAFF WRITER

TAMPA - Hillsborough County sheriff's deputies are seeking help in solving a string of robberies that took place between July 28 and last Thursday.

The robberies targeted various restaurants, pizza parlors and video stores in Brandon and Tampa. They took place either in the early morning as employees were opening for business or at night after closing.

Each time, the robbers confronted employees at gunpoint. The robbers also concealed their faces with bandanas or cloths. Investigators don't think the same men perpetrated each robbery, but they do believe a group of individuals might be involved.

Anyone with information about the robberies is asked to call the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office at (813) 247-8200 or Crime Stoppers toll-free at 1-800-873-8477.
