Valrico man held on child porn charges

VALRICO - Hillsborough sheriff's deputies on Wednesday charged a 53-year-old man with possessing nearly 2,000 images of child pornography. Chances are Scott Havens of 2203 Whitney Place in Valrico will soon face many more charges. He's charged with 1,974 counts of possession of child pornography and 15 counts of promotion of child pornography. Deputies said only 16 of 281 CD-ROMs found in Havens' home have been reviewed. The ones they did examine each contained hundreds of photographs of children engaged in sexual activity or posing with little or no clothing, reports stated. Havens remained in the Hillsborough County jail Wednesday night in lieu of more than $4-million bail.
