WHAT WE SAID: The St. Petersburg Times gave the film an A. MPAA RATING: PG-13; thematic elements, drug content and language, including a sexual reference RUNNING TIME: 110 min. Go for Zucker! DIRECTOR: Dani Levy, Holger Franke CAST: Henry Hbchen, Hannelore Elsner, Udo Samel, Golda Tencer, Steffen Groth, Anja Franke, Sebastian Blomberg, Elena Uhlig, Rolf Hoppe, Inga Busch SYNOPSIS: This comedy about a dysfunctional Jewish family was shown as part of the Jewish Film Festival in St. Petersburg in February. WHAT WE SAID: The Times did not review the film. MPAA RATING: Not rated RUNNING TIME: 90 min. Hard Candy DIRECTOR: David Slade CAST: Patrick Wilson, Ellen Page, Sandra Oh, Jennifer Holmes SYNOPSIS: The tables are turned on a pedophile (Wilson) by a conniving teenager (Page) with a sadistic streak. WHAT WE SAID: The Times gave the film a B+. MPAA RATING: R; for disturbing violent and aberrant sexual content involving a teen, and for language RUNNING TIME: 103 min. Loverboy DIRECTOR: Kevin Bacon CAST: Kyra Sedgwick, Kevin Bacon, Dominic Scott Kay, Sandra Bullock, Marisa Tomei, Matt Dillon, Spencer Treat Clark, Oliver Platt, Sosie Bacon SYNOPSIS: A woman (Sedgwick) who never thought she wanted children becomes obsessed with her son. WHAT WE SAID: The Times did not review this film, which played locally only at the Sarasota Film Festival. MPAA RATING: R; sexuality RUNNING TIME: 86 min. Stay Alive DIRECTOR: William Brent Bell CAST: Jon Foster, Samaire Armstrong, Frankie Muniz, Sophia Bush, Adam Goldberg SYNOPSIS: A killer videogame lures teenagers - including Muniz (Malcolm in the Middle) - to grisly deaths. WHAT WE SAID: The Times did not review this film. MPAA RATING: PG-13; horror violence, disturbing images, language, brief sexual and drug content RUNNING TIME: 85 min. Stick It DIRECTOR: Jessica Bendinger CAST: Jeff Bridges, Missy Peregrym, Vanessa Lengies, Tarah Paige, Maddy Curley, Nikki SooHoo, John Patrick Amedori, Kellan Lutz, Gia Carides SYNOPSIS: Rebellious gymnast (Peregrym) rejoins her coach (Bridges) after being arrested, regaining her team spirit. WHAT WE SAID: The Times gave the movie a C. MPAA RATING: PG-13; some crude remarks RUNNING TIME: 105 min.
