ST. PETERSBURG - After the Crusaders (3-1) tied it at 20 early in the fourth quarter, the Lions (2-3) rebounded with two touchdowns in four minutes. Quarterback Stephen Johnson accounted for four touchdowns, scoring on two short runs and hooking up with tight end Clay Kessler for a pair of 19-yard touchdowns - one in each half. Hernando Christian controlled the line of scrimmage all game, amassing 21 first downs and 323 rushing yards, including twin 100-yard efforts from Andrue Szempruch and Chris Harvey. Corey Drummond added 83 yards and a touchdown for Hernando Christian, which piled up 215 rushing yards in the first half. "They came out and played smash-mouth football, and we weren't as prepared for it as we should have been," Crusaders coach Shannon Brooks said.
