BYU frustrates Utah St. offense

PROVO, Utah - Jason Beck passed for 305 yards and a touchdown in his first start and Fui Vakapuna ran for three scores to lead Brigham Young past Utah State 38-0 Saturday.
Beck was starting for John Beck (no relation), who rested his sprained right ankle, and completed 20-of-28 with one interception as the Cougars (2-2) gained 441 yards.
Utah State (0-4) was shut out for the third straight game and has yet to score a point on offense this season.
Marcus Cross ran for 127 yards - more than half of Utah State's 242 yards of offense. Leon Jackson was 14-for-24 for 90 yards with one interception, which Justin Robinson returned 64 yards for a touchdown.
Justin Hamblin attempted a 33-yard field goal that Russell Tialavea swatted back at the kicker. Utah State tried another field goal, but the snap was over the holder's head.

BOISE, Idaho - Jared Zabransky threw for 273 yards and three touchdowns and Ian Johnson ran for 178 yards and two scores to help Boise State hold off Hawaii.
Tulsa 24, Navy 23 (OT): Nick Graham blocked an extra-point attempt by Navy's Matt Harmon on the final play in the first-ever overtime game for the Midshipmen. Tied at 17 after regulation, Tulsa's Paul Smith threw a 6-yard touchdown to Donnie Johnson and Jarod Tracy's extra point made it 24-17. Navy scored on one play on O.J. Washington's 25-yard TD catch.
Air Force 31, Wyoming 24: Quarterback Shaun Carney ran for 131 yards and two touchdowns as Air Force beat host Wyoming in Laramie. Chad Hall added 122 yards rushing.
Kent State 38, Bowling Green 3: Julian Edelman ran for one touchdown and threw for another in Bowling Green, Ohio, as Kent State won its second straight after losing 11 in a row.
New Mexico 26, UTEP 13: Rodney Ferguson rushed for a career-high 162 yards and quarterback Chris Nelson threw for two touchdowns and had host New Mexico's first rushing score of the season in Albuquerque.
FAMU 25, Winston-Salem 21: After being benched early in the second half, quarterback Alvin Chester came back in the fourth quarter to rush for a touchdown and set up another in FAMU's rally in Tallahassee. Chester scored from 2 yards out with 5:36 left in the game, then hit Willie Hayward for the two-point conversion to close FAMU (2-2) to 21-18. After Chester hit Hayward for a 43-yarder on the next drive, running back Anthony Edwards scored from 2 yards out with 36 seconds left.
Jacksonville 31, Butler 7: Quarterback Chris Horton tied a school record with four touchdown passes as Jacksonville (1-2, 1-0) handed Butler (1-3, 0-1) its 11th consecutive Pioneer Football League loss.
B-CC 22, Norfolk State 21: Jesus Cortez kicked a 35-yard field goal with 3:29 to play for Bethune-Cookman (3-1, 2-0) in a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference game as the Wildcats rallied from an eight-point fourth-quarter deficit.
