TAMPA - A 45-year-old man died early Sunday in a single-car crash along Interstate 75, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Dennis G. Frantz, of 506 Key Deer Way in Lutz, was heading north on I-75 when he lost control of his 1994 Pontiac Firebird, troopers said.

Frantz was just north of County Road 581 when he drove into the grass median, his car spun and struck a center median guardrail just before 3:15 a.m.

Troopers said that Frantz was ejected from his car during the accident. He died at the scene.
