Eagles no threat to Tornadoes

CLEARWATER - Clearwater took another step toward an unbeaten regular season with a 25-11, 25-12, 25-18 win at East Lake on Wednesday.
"(Going undefeated) isn't something we discuss much," Clearwater coach Tracy Sedley said. "We want to be as best prepared for districts as possible and to have fun."
There certainly have been plenty of reasons to smile this season for the 14-0 Tornadoes. Clearwater visits Tarpon Springs tonight and Countryside on Tuesday.
"I'm excited about how we're playing right now," middle hitter Kristin Fisher said. "We were very pumped on the bus ride (to East Lake)."
That energy created on the pre-match trip translated to the court as Fisher, who recently committed to Central Florida, dominated at the net with 14 kills and 11 blocks.
"There is no doubt that (Fisher is) the best player in this county," Sedley said. "You saw it tonight; she's pretty much unstoppable."
Fisher also had two of the Tornadoes' six aces. Though that number wasn't a gaudy team total, Clearwater's service game routinely had East Lake (13-6) in poor position to start its offense.
"We've made a vast improvement in our serving," Sedley said. "And we put (East Lake) in tough spots all night."
Clearwater's Lauren Rilling finished with 15 digs while teammate Channing Salava had three aces, 25 assists and four blocks. East Lake was led by Lindsey Opperman's 10 kills and 12 digs.
