NASHVILLE - Quarterback Vince Young will make his first start for the Titans today against the Cowboys.
Coach Jeff Fisher promised he wouldn't start the third pick in April's draft until he was ready and said Monday that veteran Kerry Collins would start.
But Collins, signed Aug. 29, has struggled to pick up the offense. He has been intercepted six times with only one touchdown. Young is 10-of-23 for 133 yards with a touchdown and interception. He played one series in the opener and one series in the first half and the entire fourth quarter in a 40-7 loss at San Diego.
Browns: Cornerback Gary Baxter likely will miss his second game because of a strained left pectoral muscle. Also, backup safety Justin Hamilton, was declared out with an ankle injury.
chiefs: End Jared Allen, whose 11 sacks last season were a team high, has been charged with driving under the influence for the second time in five months. Police pulled Allen over at about 1:30 a.m. Tuesday after his car was not staying in the lane, Leawood (Kan.) police said Friday. He refused a sobriety test and was given an Oct. 25 court appearance. After an incident in May, he was allowed to take part in a program that would lead to dropped charges.
Eagles: Cornerback Lito Sheppard practiced for the first time since injuring his ankle during the season opener. But Sheppard, who has missed the past two games, is still doubtful for Monday.
seahawks: Special teams captain Isaiah Kacyvenski was released to make room for Marquis Weeks, signed from the practice squad. Weeks will back up Maurice Morris, who is starting for the injured Shaun Alexander.
