Celebrate 1 year of using 211 as resource provider

LECANTO - The Advisory Council for 211 will celebrate its first anniversary as a health and human information resource provider from 10 a.m. to noon today at the Citrus County Resource Center, 2804 W Marc Knighton Court. By dialing 211, Citrus residents are connected to a multilingual information and referral specialist. The information needed can be of a sensitive nature or simply general information. The celebration will include a demonstration of accessing the 211 database on the Web and an opportunity for not-for-profit organizations and government entities to register their services. Meet, speak with political candidates at forum

BEVERLY HILLS - The Beverly Hills Civic Association, the Beverly Hills Recreation Association and the St. Petersburg Times are hosting a candidates' forum at 7 p.m. Oct. 12 at the Beverly Hills Recreation Association, 77 Civic Circle. Doors open at 6 p.m. Voters can meet and speak with candidates and submit questions for the moderator. State, federal and local candidates have been invited.
