Environmental forum is today

EAST LAKE - The public is welcome at an environmental science forum meeting from 3 to 6 p.m. today at the Brooker Creek Preserve Environmental Education Center, 3940 Keystone Road. The meeting will cover three East Lake projects proposed for the Brooker Creek Preserve: the expansion of the East Lake Youth Sports Complex into 38 acres of the preserve, the reopening of three wells to water golf courses, and the Friends of Brooker Creek and county proposals for better protecting the preserve. High school presents melodrama

EAST LAKE - East Lake High School presents The Shame of Tombstone at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday in the school theater, 1300 Silver Eagle Drive. The old-fashioned melodrama, a comical show set in the Old West, features can-can dancing and audience interaction. The production is the 75th for theater director Jerry Shaver and includes former and current East Lake High students. Tickets will be sold at the door at $6 for general admission, $5 for seniors. Play at Cultural Center canceled

TARPON SPRINGS - The play People's Property, which was to be performed Friday and Saturday at the Tarpon Springs Cultural Center, has been canceled. Call (727) 942-5605.
