Jabil sets example Apple, Microsoft can only envy

By JEFF HARRINGTON
Published October 9, 2006

Take a bite out of these stats, Apple Computer. And hotshot Microsoft can power down as well.

St. Petersburg's own little hot stock, Jabil Circuit, bests both of them when it comes to the best-performing stocks of the past decade.

So says Motley Fool, the online investment advice site (www.fool.com), which says Jabil's return of 2,540 percent between 1996 and 2005 places it 18th on the hot stocks list.

Topping the chart is Hansen Natural, with a whopping 24,185 percent return. Not far behind at No. 2, with a 17,600 percent appreciation, is Chico's, the high-flying Fort Myers apparel retailer.

As for Apple? Ha. Doesn't even crack the top 50, says Motley Fool.
