TAMPA - Police charged a Hollywood man in the stabbing death of a Temple Terrace man early Sunday morning.

Kim Lawson Holmes, 21, died at Tampa General Hospital after being stabbed in the abdomen outside an Ybor City nightclub about 3:23 a.m., police said.

The stabbing occurred in a parking lot north of Club Empire, 1902 E Seventh Ave., after an argument between several people, police said.

Police charged Chyvas Ariel Peoples of 5210 Mayo St., Hollywood, with second-degree attempted murder. Why the charge remained attempted murder was unclear Sunday night.

Peoples, 27, who listed his occupation as rapper, was being held without bail Sunday evening at the Orient Road Jail.
