  • For their own good

Coming Monday

By Times Staff
Published October 12, 2006

On Monday, the Times debuts a new weather report. Instead of the back of the newspaper's B section, the weather will now appear daily on Page 2A. It will feature a seven-day forecast (rather than the current five-day) provided by our new weather partners at Bay News 9. The Bay News 9 weather experts will also answer reader questions. The forecast on the front page of the paper is expanding to give you the timing of temperatures throughout the day.

The 2A weather map will appear in black and white. Why? We've made the color available to advertisers who are seeking more premium color positions than we've been able to offer. Those ad dollars pay for our news coverage and allow us to keep our subscription prices among the most affordable in the country. We've tried to mitigate the loss of color by providing a better overall report. We hope you'll give it a try.
