DETROIT - The Devil Rays lost a major-league-most 101 games, but commissioner Bud Selig said Friday that he was impressed with their 20 percent attendance increase and optimistic about their future under owner Stuart Sternberg. "They did very well," Selig said. "For the first year of new ownership, they did extremely well. I'm very optimistic. They've got some good young talent. They had a nice attendance increase. "It was a very auspicious debut."
