Bern's to celebrate milestone with lunch As part of its 50th anniversary celebration, Bern's Steak House will offer lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday through Oct. 27. As a way to capture its unique beginnings in cuisine and pricing, Bern's Little Midway Retro Lunches will include appetizers, soups, salads and sandwich options. Prices will range from $2.95 to $25, and a special dessert menu will be served in the dining rooms. For reservations, call 251-2421. DOWNTOWN UT homecoming has soccer, casino night Sports and games round out the University of Tampa's homecoming celebrations this weekend. The Eckerd Tritons visit the Tampa campus for a soccer match at 6 tonight at Art and Polly Pepin Stadium. Monte Carlo auction and casino night is from 7 to 11 p.m. Saturday in the Vaughn Center Crescent Club. Funds from the auction will benefit the university's scholarship fund. VIRGINIA PARK MAD Theatre seeks performers for 'Hair' MAD Theatre of Tampa is looking for performers for the upcoming production of the musical Hair. Performers with all levels of experience are encouraged to audition. The musical is a multiracial ensemble of male and female actors, singers and dancers. DOWNTOWN UT's inaugural 5K race is set for Saturday The University of Tampa's inaugural 5K race begins at 8 a.m. Saturday at UT's Bob Martinez Sports Center. Runners will race in seven categories: 17 and younger; 18-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59; 60 and older; and University of Tampa alumni. Registration is $25 per person, $20 for alumni and $15 for students and military personnel. All proceeds go to the UT scholarship fund. Call 253-3333, ext. 3582. TAMPA Spring of Tampa Bay gets gift of plates The Spring of Tampa Bay recently received a gift of 1,200 plates from Outback Steakhouse. The local donation is part of a national initiative that involves donating millions of pieces of plate ware to charitable organizations. The plates were formerly used in the Outback location in Brandon and will be used for residents who move out of the Spring shelter into their own homes. DOWNTOWN Church will celebrate its 160th anniversary First United Methodist Church celebrates its 160th anniversary with an 11 a.m. service Sunday.
