FSU's top receiver to miss Maryland game

TALLAHASSEE - Florida State leading receiver De'Cody Fagg looked at Wednesday as the final test of whether his high ankle sprain would be ready to go. It didn't hold up, so he will be out for Saturday's game with Maryland.
"I just have to try to get healthy for next week," said Fagg, who also missed last year's game against Maryland.
Fagg leads all receivers with 25 catches, and he is second on the team with 297 yards.
Junior Joslin Shaw will start, with freshmen Preston Parker and Damon McDaniel backing him up.
ETC: Linebacker Jae Thaxton practiced but has not been cleared to play. ... Defensive tackle Alex Boston (ankle) practiced but is questionable.
USF: WR commits
TAMPA - USF picked up an oral commitment Tuesday from Patrick Richardson, a 6-foot-1, 185-pound receiver from Pensacola's Woodham High.
Richardson, who also had offers from Maryland, Florida International and Louisiana-Lafayette and had drawn interest from Florida State, Alabama, N.C. State and Georgia Tech, leads his team with 21 catches for 372 yards and three scores this season.
UF: Wynn healthy
GAINESVILLE - Running back DeShawn Wynn says he is at his healthiest in weeks as he recovers from a sprained ankle.
Wynn said injuries this year have gotten to him more than last season's various injuries because it is his senior year and his last chance to show his skills.
Since he wasn't fully healthy, coach Urban Meyer used receivers Percy Harvin and Andre Caldwell out of the backfield at times.
Wynn said it's a good change of pace when they come in, and he's not worried about losing carries to the duo.
"Could've been, but I'm not that selfish," he said. "Whatever coach feels is going to help us break a long one or change the tempo, I'm down with it."
