Citrus (4-4) At Hernando (2-6) Time: 7:30 Last week: Citrus won a barn-burner, beating Crystal River 38-37 to keep its playoff hopes alive. Hernando lost a heartbreaker, falling 13-7 to Nature Coast after a last-minute drive ended at the Sharks' 7-yard line. This week: If Citrus beats Hernando, it clinches a playoff spot. If Hernando beats Citrus, mayhem and chaos rule Class 3A, District 6. We like mayhem and chaos. The pick: Hernando. Ridgewood (4-4) at Springstead (4-4) Time: 7:30 Last week: Both teams saw their playoff hopes end with Ridgewood's loss to Tarpon Springs (the Spongers have defeated both teams, clinching a playoff berth). This week: We find out the best team in Class 4A, District 8 that doesn't rhyme with "Dental" or "Harp-and-Things." The pick: Springstead. Nature Coast (7-1) at Mulberry (2-6) Time: 7:30 Last week: Nature Coast clinched its first district title with a dramatic win over Hernando. Mulberry lost its third straight game, this time to St. Petersburg Catholic. This week: Don't mean to be Nihilistic, but this one's absolutely meaningless. Still, Nature Coast can run its win streak to eight. The pick: Nature Coast Central (6-2) at River Ridge (0-8) Time: 7:30 Last week: Central represented out of county, beating South Lake 27-7. River Ridge fell to Springstead 21-3. This Week: Central should cap off its undefeated district schedule. The pick: Central Ocala Christian Academy (0-1) at Hernando Christian (4-5) Last week: HCA fell to Sarasota Out-of-Door 28-0. This week: HCA closes out its season at home in the last game for seniors like Stephen Johnson and Corey Drummond. The pick: Hernando Christian.
