Fifth suspect is arrested in murder, robbery

A fifth murder suspect is in custody following the death of Jose Anaya, 39, of Plant City earlier this month. Clayton Douglas Maxwell, 21, of 3242 Oaktree Drive in Mulberry is being held at Falkenburg Road Jail without bond on murder and robbery charges. Anaya died from upper body injuries. Also charged with murder are Dominick Levoah Fletcher, 19, of 3209 Laurel Lane in Plant City; Robert Tellis Young, 20, of 4003 E Bird St. in Tampa; Justin Jerrod Grayer, 19, of St. Augustine; and, Rodney Lewis Lee, 19, of 709 S Marshall St. in Plant City. Panda Express driver disrupted robbery A quick-acting deliveryman with a gun thwarted an armed robbery at his restaurant job Wednesday night, scaring off one person and shooting another. The wounded man - Robert S. Lee, 25, of 8402 Del Rey Court - ended up in intensive care at Tampa General Hospital. Police charged Lee with attempted murder, armed robbery and possessing a firearm with an altered serial number. His unidentified accomplice remained on the loose Thursday. Police wouldn't give the deliveryman's name, and neither would Panda Express on 56th Avenue N at East Riverhills Drive. Intruders demand cash, jewelry ST. PETERSBURG - Three masked intruders slid through an open kitchen window and robbed a family of five at gunpoint, authorities said. As her family was sleeping early Tuesday at 3844 43rd Ave. N, 15-year-old Cindy Thach said, the men made their way into her room, waving guns, demanding cash and asking for jewelry. They forced her onto the black leather sofa in the living room shouting: "Where's the money at?" Brian K. Varner, 20, turned himself in after fingerprints linked him to the crime, sheriff's investigators said. Detectives were looking for two more two suspects. Heater explosion burns couple A couple was flown to Tampa General Hospital with serious burns Thursday afternoon when a heater exploded, officials said. The fire occurred shortly after 5 p.m. at a mobile home at Stoner Road and McMullen Loop in south Hillsborough County. Kelly had injuries on his right side, indicating he was a passenger.
