Florida vs Georgia
By ANTONYA ENGLISH
Published October 28, 2006
No. 9 Florida (6-1, 4-1 SEC) vs. Georgia (6-2, 3-2), 3:30 In a reversal of fortune from recent years, the Bulldogs are the underdogs at Jacksonville. Georgia is unranked and struggling. Florida has won 14 of the past 16 meetings, but in this rivalry records are just numbers on paper. And on paper, at least, this should be a battle for Georgia. Injuries and turnovers have plagued the Bulldogs. Kicker Brandon Coutu is out for the season, they lost top running back Thomas Brown to a knee injury two weeks ago, center Nick Jones is expected to play with a sprained knee and tight end Martrez Milner (toe) is questionable. Florida is coming off a bye week and has everybody healthy. Both teams struggle with turnovers: Georgia is tied for second in the SEC with 17 and Florida has 15. Georgia is ninth in the league in total offense, having been outscored 37-10 in the third quarter and 80-52 in the second half over the past five games, while Florida has the league's second-best scoring defense.
