Your articles often refer to the area off I-275 in north St. Petersburg as the "Toytown landfill." What is the significance or history of the name Toytown? From John Smith

The unlikely name for a city dump came from the land. The 488-acre Toytown subdivision was created in the early 1920s. In 1956 Pinellas dedicated the land for park and recreational purposes, later acquiring 180 private lots. St. Petersburg then leased 260 acres for the landfill, which opened in 1961.
