Railroad repair w ill delay daytime t raffic

The Florida Department of Transportation and CSX will repair the railroad crossing on U.S. 41, about 2.4 miles north of State Road 52. Repairs will take place today and Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Traffic will be reduced to one lane through the construction zone, with the southbound lane closed today and the northbound lane closed Tuesday. County Commissioner Steve Simon and opponent Michael Cox have squabbled over work hours and the Internet in their race for the Nov. 7 elections, so why not photography? Two weeks earlier, Cox snapped photos of Simon on the dais that appeared on a direct mail piece to voters. After that meeting, Simon said, he was perturbed from the flashes hitting his eyes. It's the time of year for flu shots The Pasco County Health Department is offering flu shots. The shots cost $25, payable by cash or local check. Shots are free for residents with traditional Medicare coverage. Pneumonia shots, $35, are also available. Those who want to remember their children who have died are encouraged to send in pictures of their children by Nov. 10 to be included in a DVD to be played during the ceremony.
