INVERNESS - On Sept. 26, Allen J. Skrypak got a break in court. A day later, he was back in handcuffs.

Skrypak is serving three years of probation after being accused of impersonating a law officer and possessing drugs.

On Sept. 27, one day after accepting the probation as part of a plea agreement, Skrypak was arrested on drunken driving charges. That arrest might constitute a violation of his probation terms.

Skrypak, 48, of Dunnellon is being held at the Citrus County jail. He now could face two punishments: one for the DUI charge and one for the charge of violating probation.

Sheriff's deputies arrested Skrypak in July in Floral Park. He had a concealed .357 Magnum and was approaching teens at the park, telling them he was an undercover officer looking for a drug suspect. He then offered to smoke marijuana with them, arrest records state.

Skrypak was also seen loading a pipe with marijuana and smoking it, arrest records state.

He told the teens that police consume the illegal drugs they confiscate, according to records. One of the teens took a picture of Skrypak with her cell phone.

When deputies interviewed Skrypak later that night at the park, they found a pistol concealed on his body and a badge in his shirt pocket.

In his car, they found handcuffs and a shirt from the Ocala Police Department, according to the arrest report.

Skrypak pleaded no contest to the charges and was sentenced to three years' probation. He also had to surrender his police badges and handcuffs, records state.

Skrypak was arrested Sept. 27 on DUI charges in Marion County, according to court records. He was transferred to the Citrus jail from the Marion jail on Oct. 16.

Skrypak is scheduled to be arraigned Monday in Citrus County before Circuit Judge Ric Howard.
