Upward Bound middle, high schoolers improve

CITRUS SPRINGS - The Rotarian-sponsored Upward Bound celebration for middle and high school was held recently at the Citrus Springs Community Center to honor students selected by their schools as having made improvements this first quarter.

New this year was a drawing for two $50 U.S. Savings Bonds, donated by Homosassa Springs Bank.

They were awarded to Edward Ferguson, Citrus High School, and Daniel Gonzalez, Citrus Springs Middle School.

These are the first grading period's Upward Bound students from middle and high schools.

- CREST School: Davis Taylor, Todd Anderson and Barry Enders.

- Citrus Springs Middle School: Daniel Gonzalez, Shane Hafner, Carol Cote, Amber Decker, Christopher Gromelski, Devin Picard, Alexander Plum, Samantha Rich, Jacqueline Savaglio, Blake Geltch, Gabriell Mazzi, Kimberly Murray and Damian Perez.

- Crystal River Middle School: Jordan Clark, Kimberly Copeland, Rebecca Miller, Cornelius Natteal, Danielle Nelson, Kristyauna Richburgh, Chelsea Steinmetz, Emily Spencer, Brandon Watson, Troy Westerman and Bucky Zerby.

- Inverness Middle School: Kelsey Jones, Raymond Vielleux, Canaan Swackard, Nicholas Barton, Anthony Coimbre, Whitney Quandt, Jared Brown, Hannah Rodgers, Kyle Bolduc, Kyle Nelson, Jarrett Suydam, Haylea Ward and Jansci Fox.

- Lecanto Middle School: Tabatha Buchanan, Terrence Council, Kandyce Allen, T.J. Watson, Josh Evans, Stacy Wandashin, Caleb Unkefer, Margie Arnell, Robert Luscomb, Samantha Poulin, Colleen Apple and Charlie Walters.

- Pope John Paul II Catholic School: Mary Fontanez, Thomas Slaymaker and Deonna D'Altorio.

- West Coast Christian School: Katrina Townsend.

- Camp E-Nini-Hassee: Jenna Thruber, Leah Hansen, Lauren Horton, Kelly Dobson and Tiffany Rimer.

- Renaissance Center: Steven Fleisher, Jaimee Gordon, John Gromling, James Powell, Dallas St. Denis and Patrick Capagli.

- Citrus High School: Christopher Beeman, Edward Ferguson, Eric Mesick and Joshua Rutherford.
