Small business issues

SurePayroll, a Glenview, Ill.-based small business payroll provider, surveys small businesses nationwide each month on economic matters. With elections on Tuesday, the company asked this question in its latest survey:

What do you feel is the single most important business issue in the upcoming election?

Health care coverage cost 30 percent

Cutting regulatory red tape 17 percent

Tax relief 15 percent

Immigration 12 percent

Energy cost 8 percent

Social Security reform 6 percent

Telecommunications service fees 1 percent

Labor issues 3 percent

Other 8 percent
