It is widely reported how many American soldiers in Afghanistan and Iraq have been killed, but I don't see statistics on those injured. What are the current numbers?

Based on Department of Defense statistics reported at, 20,687 American troops have been wounded in Iraq and 962 in Afghanistan as of Sept. 30, 2006.
