See and puchase artists works during festivals

Take a walk through St. Petersburg history and enjoy artwork on for sale this weekend in Roser Park. The Historic Roser Park Art Festival returns Saturday and Sunday with painters, photographers, sculptors and craftspeople displaying their works on the banks of Booker Creek in historic Roser Park. The event also features an outdoor Roser Park museum, a self-guided walking tour through early St. Pete history, food and live music from the Al Downing Tampa Bay Jazz Association and the Shiny Shoe Band. Admission is free. Part of the proceeds will go toward the preservation and improvement of the Historic Roser Park neighborhood and ASAP Homeless Services of St. Petersburg. Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at Roser Park, 10th Avenue S between Fourth and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Street. Information: 822-7582 or visit www.roserpark.net. Flood control discussion The Shore Acres Civic Association's quarterly/end-of-the-year meeting will take place Monday. Guest speaker Mike Connors of the City of St. Petersburg will discuss flood control plans and the installation of new flood control valves. Guest speaker Bonnie Tilbe will present an overview of Hospice services. When: 7 p.m. Tuesday Where: St. Petersburg Community Church, 4501 30th Ave. N Meeting has full agenda The Crescent Lake Neighborhood Association meeting is Thursday. Residents are encouraged to attend to hear proposals to improve the neighborhood and the lake and to vote on the 2007 board of directors. Other agenda items: An opportunity supported by grant funding through Tampa Bay Estuary Programs will be presented. This would be a community project that would restore the natural environment of the lake and provide educational opportunities to the community. All well behaved pets are welcome and registration is free. All pets must be on a leash or held.
