Symphony concert Sunday evening at recreation center

SEMINOLE

Classical music will soon fill the Holland G. Mangum Recreation Complex auditorium.

The first of three concerts performed by the Suncoast Symphony Orchestra will be Sunday. The all-volunteer orchestra, which has been performing in the area since 1984, typically does three performances per season.

Selections include Die Fledermaus by Strauss, Mozart's Concerto for Flute and Harp and Gershwin's An American in Paris Suite.

Sunday's performance starts at 7:30 p.m. at the complex, 9100 113th St. N. Admission is $5. Information: www.suncoastsymphony.com.

Meeting of pow-wow committee rescheduled

The Seminole Pow-Wow committee meeting originally scheduled for Nov. 1 has been rescheduled for Nov. 15.

Efforts of civic clubs, groups to be honored

A luncheon to honor Seminole's civic clubs, community groups and nonprofit organizations will be Nov. 16. "A Gathering of Friends" will be at Banquet Masters with lunch and a program.

Trip to Medieval Fair for seniors is Nov. 18

Join Seminole Recreation Department's field trip for seniors to the Sarasota Medieval Fair in Bradenton on Nov. 18. This year's festival features live entertainment on six stages, medieval-themed vendors, exotic animal encounters such as elephant rides and tiger exhibits, dancing, music and three food courts. It also includes an armored full-contact jousting tournament, human combat and chess match performances.

Take a walk indoors while listening to music

Walking for fitness is more fun with friends. Seminole Recreation offers walkers an indoor, climate-controlled environment along with music to help get you going in the gym of the Holland G. Mangum Recreation Complex. Walkers meet twice a week.

When: 8 to 9 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays

Annual night parade, music set holiday mood

The annual Seminole Holiday Night Parade is set for Nov. 19. The city of Seminole, along with Seminole's Chamber of Commerce and Seminole Mall cohost the event, which also includes holiday music and lights.

When: 6:30 p.m. Nov. 19

Where: Parade route is along 113th Street from Seminole Mall to the Holland G. Mangum Recreation Complex.
