Dana Primus, 17, is the corps commander of Jefferson High School's Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps. He plans to make a career with the Marines. His second-in-command is Ronni McAulay, 17, whose grandparents met while they were both in the Navy. She plans to be an officer in the Air Force and then an astronaut at NASA. "I don't think everybody should have to support the war, but they should support the troops," Primus says. Especially on Veterans Day. Here are their tips for ways to show support: - "Say 'thank you for what you're doing.' " - McAulay. - "Stand during the pledge. Don't talk." - Primus. - "Go volunteer, like at a veterans hospital." - McAulay. - "Buy an American flag." - Primus. - "Be a pen pal to someone stationed in Iraq or Afghanistan." - McAulay. (You can find military members and suggestions for items to send at penpalsforsoldiers.org or operationmilitarysupport.com.)
