WHERE IS THE FLAG THAT WAS RAISED ON IWO JIMA? FROM MARY KINKADE, PINELLAS PARK

Secretary of the Navy James Forrestal, who witnessed the flag-raising, had the flag brought back to the United States. The flag, and a second, larger flag that was later raised, are now at the National Museum of the Marine Corps in Quantico, Va., although only one flag is on exhibit at any one time in order to preserve them for future generations.
