A bearded robber - who may be the same person sought in a bank robbery last month - stole money and escaped from the Florida Central Credit Union at 10:45 Monday morning, police said. Nobody in the facility, at 1499 Belcher Road, was injured. The teller did as the robber told her after he handed her a note demanding money. He escaped with an undetermined amount of cash. The incident appears to be related to an Oct. 13 robbery at Cornerstone Community Bank. The descriptions of the two robbers were very close, police said. Both used notes to communicate with the tellers. And both escaped in what appeared to be the same type of car. Witnesses could not describe any specific weapon in either case, but the presence of a weapon was implied, police said. On Monday, the robber escaped in what witnesses described as an early 1990s model, bright blue Chevrolet Cavalier, police said. The vehicle, which appeared to be in good condition, has a light-colored interior. The robber is described as a white male in his 30s or 40s, who is about 6 feet tall with a medium build. He has a beard and was wearing dark clothing.
