Daily fishing report

What's hot: Kingfish. And they'll remain that way through Thanksgiving. If winter is mild and water temperatures stay above the mid 60s, kingfish may stick around into December. During this past weekend's King of the Beach tournament, kingfish were caught from Clearwater to the Egmont shipping channel at depths from 14 to 140 feet. Bait remains abundant, which is a main reason kingfish will linger. Tactics: After a few days of unsettled weather, seaweed may become a nuisance to slow trollers. Anchoring and chumming can be a productive alternative. This technique reduces the stress on baits because they don't have to be constantly reeled in and cleared of the nagging seaweed. Drifting can be another solution. This technique allows baits to swim below the surface and stay clear of the seaweed. Tackle: Less is best when anchored.
