Business group seeks youthful entreprneurs Up-and-coming entrepreneurs are invited to apply for the 2007 Young Entrepreneur Awards, a program of the National Federation of Independent Business Young Entrepreneur Foundation. The fifth annual scholarship program for high school seniors is designed to set teenage small business owners on the path to entrepreneurship. Award recipients attend the university, college, community college or vocational/technical institute of their choice with $1,000 in tuition assistance from the NFIB Young Entrepreneur Foundation. Five students will be named regional winners and each receives a $5,000 scholarship. One of the five regional winners will be named the Young Entrepreneur of the Year and will be awarded an additional $5,000 for a total scholarship award of $10,000. CFCC doing noble deeds for holiday Central Florida Community College students and staff will celebrate an early Thanksgiving with the 80 residents of Evangeline Booth Garden Apartments from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday. Students from the college's Culinary Arts Learning Center will prepare a traditional meal for residents of the Salvation Army/HUD apartments. CFCC staff and students will serve the meal. Prior to the meal, the Practical Nursing Program will distribute health information and the Horsemanship Club will display horses. Pat Fleming, associate professor of business and technology, said other projects with the residents have included cosmetology services, blood pressure checks, landscaping, computer repair, car washing, apartment clean up, furniture moving and shopping trips. Wood carving show is Dec. 2 The Nature Coast Carving Club will host its 9th annual Woodcarving Show from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dec. 2 at the Citrus County Auditorium, located at the fairgrounds on U.S. 41 S, Inverness. The show will have about 90 tables of wood carvings and supplies. Demonstrations include carving-in-the-round, use of knives, wood burning and power tools. Approximately 100 carved Christmas tree ornaments will be given away as door prizes. Admission is $2. Free parking. Curtains won't rise on Thanksgiving Playhouse 19 will cancel its Thanksgiving Day performance of The Seven Year Itch. Performances resume at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday; 2 p.m. Sunday.
