Brian Douglas Wells died Aug. 28, 2003, in Erie, Pa., when the bomb detonated as he waited with police for the bomb squad. While delivering a pizza 40 minutes earlier, he said the collar of explosives had been attached to force him to rob the bank. Despite much media attention, the case remains unsolved.
