HOLIDAY - A 22-year-old man was arrested Sunday, hours after Pasco sheriff's deputies say he stole a van at gunpoint.

John Henry Cooper III was charged with carjacking and resisting arrest without violence, according to authorities. He was held in lieu of $150,000 bail on the first charge and $500 on the second at Central Pasco Detention Center in Land O'Lakes.

Authorities say Cooper approached a man coming out of Michael's Deli on Grand Boulevard in New Port Richey just before 10:45 a.m. Sunday, showing a gun and demanding the keys to the victim's van.

No one was injured.

Sheriff's Lt. Charles Balderstone said Cooper was arrested at a home on Viceroy Lane, just off Mile Stretch Drive, in Holiday.
