Burglar strikes secound time at restaurant A burglar wanted in a string of break-ins this month is suspected of striking again. Joe's Family Restaurant was victimized again last week when someone broke the glass in the front door to get in and steal a small amount of cash from the register. It happened between 9 p.m. Thursday and 3:30 a.m. Friday, reports state. Authorities suspect the same person broke into the Main Street restaurant before dawn Nov. 11. The crimes are linked to break-ins Nov. 7 and Nov. 11 at Affordable Muffler on Main Street. The burglar broke a window and took small amounts of cash on all four occasions. Anyone with information should call sheriff's Detective Al Emrick at 726-4488, ext. 266. Teacher honored for water project The Southwest Florida Water Management District has honored Academy of Environmental Science teacher Kristen Russell-Milford for the water resources education she taught as an Inverness Primary School science teacher during the last school year. Twenty-seven projects were recognized during the Partners in Watershed Education Conference in Lakeland. Through her project, "Water is Part of the Solution," Milford's students learned Florida-friendly landscaping and how it affects water quality. Banks team up for food drive Friday AmSouth and Regions banks will conduct a food drive from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday. Drop off nonperishable food items at any county AmSouth or Regions branch. Authorities looking for dog that bit girl An 8-year-old girl was bitten by a black dog with white on its neck Nov. 17 while outside a day care center at 1076 N Citrus Ave., according to the Department of Public Safety, Animal Services Division. If the dog is not located soon, the victim will have to be vaccinated for rabies. If you have any information regarding a dog fitting that description, call Citrus County Animal Services Division at 726-7660 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Clarification Seven Rivers Regional Medical Center was placed in the top 10 percent of hospitals nationwide for joint replacement surgery. An article in Wednesday's Citrus Times about annual rankings released by HealthGrades failed to mention that honor.
