Baseball: The New Tampa Predators, a 10-and-under AAU baseball team, is looking for players for the spring season, which starts in January. Call 813 994-9400.

Basketball: An adult basketball league for ages 18 and up is forming at Roy Haynes Recreation Center, 1902 S Village Ave. League play will begin Jan. 10 and run through mid March. Games will be played each Wednesday between 6:30 and 9 p.m. Registration costs $20 and includes a T-shirt. Call (813) 903-3480.

Sports Officials: The Tampa Bay Area Sports Officials seeks new and experienced football officials for the 2007 season. TBASO provides officials for the Pasco Police Athletic League youth football program. Training sessions will begin in May. Call (813) 989-9387.

5K Run: The Hillsborough County Parks, Recreation and Conservation Department will host the Heart of Hillsborough 5K run at 7:30 a.m. Dec. 16 at Lake Park, 17302 N Dale Mabry Highway. The entry fee is $20. Register at www.hillsboroughcounty.org/parks or by calling (813) 903-3469. Runners can also register between 6:30 and 7:15 a.m. the day of the race.

Training Camps: Johnson Sports is offering speed, agility and performance camps for baseball, softball, football, soccer and track through January. The one- to two-hour sessions include performance evaluations, running form drills, running speed drills, agility drills and flexibility drills.

Camps are open to 8- to 18-year-olds and can accommodate six to 20 athletes. Camps can be scheduled from 2:30 to 8 p.m. during the week and 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturdays and vacations. They can be arranged off site or at 3911 W Waters Ave. in Tampa or 13413 Byrd Drive in Odessa. Five or more sessions are required, and each session costs between $10 and $15. Call (813) 935-3424.
