Where the Scripps money is going

It’s the biggest incentive package in Florida history, with more than $500-million committed to recruiting a branch of California’s prestigious Scripps Research Institute to Palm Beach County.

State and local governments have promised Scripps will spawn thousands of high-wage, biotech-related jobs over the next 15 years. Three years after the state Legislature approved the incentive package, here’s how some of that money has been spent. This list shows some of the major firms benefiting from the deal so far. All of that money could have been used to do something about our insurance crisis. The taxpayers of Florida are going to continue to get ripped off. We all need to speak out more!!
