String quartet, pianist to perform

Bayside String Quartet, four principal players of the Florida Orchestra, and guest pianist Dr. Scott Behler will perform holiday selections and favorites by Purcell, Mozart, Vivaldi, Corelli, Mendelssohn and Chopin for the annual "Christmas at the Plaza." The event will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday outside the plaza at 100 Indian Rocks Road N.

The event is free, and refreshments will be served.

From 5 to 9 p.m. the same evening, internationally acclaimed artist Glen Tarnowski will attend the opening reception of his show at the Plaza Gallery.

Palms & Poinsettias set for Saturday

Enjoy children's craft activities, holiday music, decorations, lighting the palm tree and Santa in the gazebo at Palms & Poinsettias from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday at Ulmer Park, 301 W Bay Drive.

The event is free.

Photos with Santa are $3.
