Palms & Poinsettias set for Saturday

Parade and party to celebrate Christmas

Tarpon Springs' annual Christmas parade will start at 10 a.m. Dec. 16 and wind through downtown Tarpon Springs on Alt. U.S. 19. It is followed by a party at Craig Park. Call the chamber at 937-6109 for details or the recreation department at 942-5628.

CLEARWATER

Decorated boat parade is Saturday

The 32nd Island Estates Yacht Club's memorial boat parade is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Saturday. The rain date is Sunday.

This year's parade will honor Beverly Fey, Paul Adair and Nancy Warfield.

The decorated boats will assemble in Mandalay Channel between Island Estates and Clearwater Beach at 6 p.m. and head through Island Estates' canals starting at 6:30 before going to Coachman Park around 8 p.m. The boats then will go under the Memorial Causeway Bridge, turning into the Clearwater Marina channel before navigating to the Clearwater Yacht Club judging stand.

Clearwater holiday parade set for Friday

Clearwater's annual holiday parade will kick off at Crest Lake Park at 7 p.m. Friday. More than 100 units in this year's parade will proceed down Cleveland Street and turn on Myrtle Avenue, the end of the route this year.

SAFETY HARBOR

Breakfast and a picture with Santa

Kids can join Santa for breakfast and a photo from 9 to 10 a.m. and 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday at the Rigsby Recreation Center, 605 Second St. N, Safety Harbor. Cost is $12 per child and $3 per adult and includes breakfast, a photo and a gift. Space is limited. To register, call (727) 724-1545.
