PINELLAS PARK - Longtime baseball coach Randy Kotchman, known for his instruction camps in Pinellas County, has opened his first indoor academy. The Kotchman Baseball School, 6360 39th St. N, is for players of both sexes and all ages, though most are students. Kotchman's youngest customer is 3, but he said college and pro baseball and softball players also use his facilities. The 6,500-square-foot school features six batting cages, baseball and softball pitching machines, and a major league pitching mound. The building also can accommodate infield drills, Kotchman said. Private lessons are available, and the school will field youth teams, Kotchman said. Coaches are former pros. The school will be closed for the holidays, but normal hours are 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday. The school is closed Sundays. The Pinellas Park City Council gave the school a green light on Nov. 21, approving a parking variance Kotchman requested, zoning director Dean Neal said. Rules call for the site to have 35 parking spaces. It was developed with eight. City staffers recommended approval because most of the school's students will be picked up and dropped off by parents.

I think is good for kids that don't like to be out side outside all the time and can practice on the inside with airconditioning and won't get tried quickier
