Three dead in strip club shooting

A man barred from a strip club after his relationship with a bartender soured returned about closing time Tuesday and fatally shot a bouncer, who had fathered the bartender's child, and the manager before killing himself. The alleged attacker, identified by police as 35-year-old Scott Medeiros, wounded three other people, including two officers, Capt. Richard Spirlet said. Club owner Tom Tsoumas said the two men killed were manager Tory Marandos and security guard Bobby Carreiro. The bartender wasn't at the club during the attack. Currency redesign for blind appealed The Bush administration on Tuesday asked an appeals court to overturn a ruling that could require a redesign of the nation's currency to help the blind. In a case brought by the American Council of the Blind, a judge ordered the Treasury Department last month to come up with ways for the blind to recognize the different denominations of paper currency. Challenger wins House runoff race Former Rep. Ciro Rodriguez defeated incumbent Republican Henry Bonilla in a House runoff election Tuesday, adding another Democrat to Congress. With nearly all precincts reporting, Rodriguez had 54 percent, and Bonilla called Rodriguez to concede. WASHINGTON: Companies have 60 days to stop selling unapproved prescription drugs made with quinine and dispensed by the millions each year, the Food and Drug Administration said in an order released Tuesday. The drugs mostly treat leg cramps. RIVERHEAD, N.Y.: Thomas Sirico, 35, was convicted of murder Tuesday for firing an arrow at a man Jan. 8. CLEVELAND: Rep.
