Alumni and history buffs can get one last look inside the old 1926 Zephyrhills High School before it is torn down later this month. A final tour through the school is scheduled from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday. The Raymond B. Stewart Middle School PTSA is making available some bricks from the building that housed grades 1-12. A memorial brick can be purchased for $25 - plus $10 if you want the brick mailed. Call Linda Gilliard at (813) 782-5521 ext. 476 or in the evening at (813) 783-8662. Inquiry begins in 5-year-old's death Police are investigating the death of a 5-year-old girl who died Thursday morning at 38638 South Ave., according to reports. Authorities believe that Anna Christine Diaz died from medical complications but must wait for autopsy results, said Chief Russell Barnes. No foul play was suspected. Diaz had surgery last week for removal of her tonsils and adenoids, according to reports. She also had a history of seizures and sleep apnea. Search ends, man arrested Somehow, a handcuffed man slipped out of the probation and parole office on U.S. 19 about 4:12 p.m. Thursday. So Pasco authorities rounded up helicopters, a police dog and the marine unit to hunt down Christopher Lewis Cardarello, a 22-year-old released Tuesday for a probation violation and possession of paraphernalia, Pasco sheriff's spokesman Doug Tobin said. For almost two hours, Cardarello was spotted at various locations, from the trees behind an adult bookstore to a furniture store parking lot to the Leisure Beach area. Finally, Lewis was arrested at a Hudson bowling alley. He was booked Thursday night at the Land O'Lakes Detention Center. 2 schools to offer varsity football The Florida High School Athletic Association has announced that two schools opening in Pasco - Sun Lake High and Wiregrass Ranch High - will have varsity football programs next fall. The Wiregrass campus is slated to open in January, while Sun Lake is expected to open in August 2007 with freshmen, sophomores and juniors.
