Baseball tryouts: The Florida Panthers 11U and 12U AAU baseball teams will hold tryouts in December, January and February for the spring season. The team plays at 3120 Tampa Road, Oldsmar. Basketball league: An adult basketball league for those 18 and up is forming at Roy Haynes Recreation Center, 1902 S Village Ave. League play will begin Jan. 10 and run through mid March. Camp registration: Children's fitness facility Move 'N Groove City, 7620 Gunn Highway, Suite 170, is now registering children ages 4-12 for its winter camps. Session 1 lasts from Dec. 18-22 and Session 2 from Dec. 26-29. Rates are $125 a week for three hours a day, $150 a week for four hours a day, $27 a day for three hours, and $32 a day for four hours. The facility is also now registering students for its classes including cheerleading, tae kwon do and hip-hop. Football officials: The Tampa Bay Area Sports Officials seeks new and experienced football officials for the 2007 season. TBASO provides officials for the Pasco Police Athletic League youth football program. Training sessions will begin in May. Call (813) 989-9387. Soccer: The Plantation Youth Soccer League will hold signups for the Carrollwood-based recreational league on Jan. 13, 20 and 27 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Plantation Clubhouse, 11380 Brookgreen Drive, off Gunn Highway near Casey Road. This neighborhood-based program serves children 4-15 in four age divisions, all co-ed. The $75 cost includes a uniform and a trophy. All games and practices are in Plantation's park. For more information, call 908-5831. Training camps: Johnson Sports is offering speed, agility and performance camps for baseball, softball, football, soccer and track through January. The one- to two-hour sessions include performance evaluations, running form drills, running speed drills, agility drills and flexibility drills. Camps are open to 8- to 18-year-olds and can accommodate six to 20 athletes. Camps can be scheduled from 2:30 to 8 p.m. during the week and 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturdays and vacations. They can be arranged off site or at 3911 W Waters Ave. in Tampa or 13413 Byrd Drive in Odessa. Five or more sessions are required, and each session costs between $10 and $15. Call (813) 935-3424.
