Coast Guard Seaman 1st Class Tyler L. Powers recently graduated from the U.S. Coast Guard training center at Cape May, N.J. He has been assigned to the U.S. Coast Guard cutter Acushnet at Ketchikan, Alaska.

Powers is the son of Scott Powers of Safety Harbor and Dawn Powers of Gulfport.

He is a graduate of St. Petersburg High School and attended Indian River Community College at Fort Pierce.

Coast Guard Chief Warrant Officer Christopher B. Pupke has retired after 29 years of service.

He will continue to work with the Coast Guard as a civilian employee in the Personnel Management Division of the Maintenance and Logistics Command in Norfolk, Va.

He is the son of Fred and Caroline Pupke of Largo, formerly of St. Petersburg.

Pupke is a 1977 graduate of Boca Ciega High School.

Air Force Airman Steven E. Dauck has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas.

During six weeks of training, Dauck studied the Air Force mission, organization, and military customs and courtesies; performed drill and ceremony marches; and received physical training, rifle marksmanship, field training exercises and special training in human relations.

He is the son of Mark Dauck of Clearwater and Dawn Calabro of Palm Bay.

Dauck is a 2005 graduate of Bayside High School, Palm Bay.

Air Force Airman Daniel V. Monahan has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas.

During six weeks of training, Monahan studied the Air Force mission, organization, and military customs and courtesies; performed drill and ceremony marches; and received physical training, rifle marksmanship, field training exercises and special training in human relations.

He is the son of Michael and Melanie Monahan of Largo.

Monahan is a 2002 graduate of Lakewood High School in St. Petersburg and received an associate degree in 2004 from Full Sail Real World Education in Winter Park, Fla.

Air Force Airman Michael A. Daugustino has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas.

During six weeks of training, Daugustino studied the Air Force mission, organization, and military customs and courtesies; performed drill and ceremony marches; and received physical training, rifle marksmanship, field training exercises and special training in human relations.

He is the son of Patrick and Tracy Daugustino of Harrisville, Mich., and grandson of Patrick Daugustino of Tarpon Springs.

Daugustino is a 2006 graduate of Alcona High School in Lincoln, Mich.

Army Pfc. Jeremy S. Zuppa has graduated from basic infantry training at Fort Benning in Columbus, Ga.

During nine weeks of training, Zuppa received training in drill and ceremonies, weapons, map-reading, tactics, military courtesy, military justice, physical fitness, first aid, and Army history, core values and traditions. Additional training included development of basic combat skills and battlefield operations and tactics and using various weapons.

He is the son of Tammy Zuppa of Largo and nephew of Susan Mackert of Crest Hill, Ill.

Zuppa is a 1990 graduate of Pinellas Park High School and received an associate degree in 2001 from ITT Technical Institute in Tampa.

Army Pvt. Joshua H. Jones has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Knox, Ky.

During the nine-week training period, Jones received instruction in drill and ceremony, weapons, rifle marksmanship and bayonet training, chemical warfare, field training and tactical exercises, armed and unarmed combat, military courtesy, military justice, physical fitness, first aid, and Army history, traditions and core values.

He is the son of Jack Jones of Raleigh, N.C., and Debra Jones of Palm Harbor.
