Volunteers needed to bring food, help serve at dinner

Looking for a holiday volunteering opportunity? Check out the Suncoast Haven of Rest Rescue Mission. The group is hosting a traditional holiday meal for the needy on Christmas Day, and volunteers may bring prepared dishes to share or help serve the meal.

LEALMAN

Community group to meet at VFW post

The Lealman Community Association meets the first Wednesday of each month. Meetings are casual and use a town hall format.

"We encourage any Lealman resident to bring forward any issues that affect the welfare and improvement of Lealman," says the group's Web site. Representatives from Pinellas County, code enforcement and the Sheriff's Office regularly attend the meetings, association leaders say.

New Year's Eve party takes on Western feel

The Clearview Oaks/Paradise Social Club will hold a New Year's Eve celebration at the Martha Ward Pavilion.
