The St. Petersburg Times and Monster announced their intentions today to launch a co-branded Web site in January that will serve people looking for jobs in Tampa Bay and those who advertise here for help wanted.

This partnership between Florida’s largest circulation newspaper and the online leader in recruitment means that the Times’ website, tampabay.com, will have the most comprehensive job site and largest resume database in the area. For Monster, this alliance is part of its strategy to reach into local markets and work with best-in-class media partners to better serve clients.

“Consumers have more and more choices today when it comes to looking for the right job – or filling one. We want to simplify the job search process by giving people the tools they need to make smart choices for one of the most important decisions of their lives - their career,” said Christine Montgomery, director of electronic publishing for the St. Petersburg Times.

“This site will have more jobs and more tools than any other in the area.”

Some of those tools include career advice, resume building help, salary information, email job alerts, a local blog about the job market and, of course, thousands of jobs that are easy to search and apply for online.

The new site launches in early January.
