Chinsegut Nature Center is recruiting volunteers to meet an increasing public demand for its services. The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, which operates the center at 23212 Lake Lindsey Road, north of Brooksville, is conducting a volunteer orientation session from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Jan. 31. Each Wednesday through April 25 following the orientation, a new topic will be presented to volunteers in training during a three- to four-hour session. In addition to presenting educational programs, volunteers help with the center's festivals, trail maintenance, invasive non-native plant control, grounds management, office staffing and other projects. Call Lucille Lane or Kristin Wood at 754-6722 for an application and to schedule an interview.
