EAST LAKE - A New Port Richey man died on the scene and a woman suffered minor injuries in a four-vehicle wreck Tuesday night, authorities said.

Harry Bey, 32, died when his 1993 pickup truck collided with a car driven by Kristin Stockland, 22, of Port Richey.

Charges are pending against Stockland, said Highway Patrol spokesman Larry Coggins.

Stockland was heading south on East Lake Road south of Grey Oaks Boulevard around 6:30 p.m. when she tried to go from the inside to the outside lane, troopers said. The front-left side of her car struck the right rear of a minivan driven by 34-year-old Carrie Miller, who was in front of Stockland.

That collision caused Stockland's car, a late model Pontiac G6, to spin counterclockwise into northbound traffic on East Lake Road.

There, Stockland's car collided with a Plymouth sedan driven by Darcy Brandt, 32, of Port Richey.

That collision caused Stockland's car to spin into the left lane, where it collided with Bey's truck, which also was heading north on East Lake Road.

The front of Bey's truck was completely smashed in before the truck came to a stop on the north shoulder of the road, Coggins said.

Brandt of Holiday suffered minor injuries and was taken to Helen Ellis Memorial Hospital in Tarpon Springs, where she was treated and released. An investigation into the case continues.
